Managing By The Numbers

Why do cars with automatic transmissions include a
tachometer on the dashboard? Perhaps because the
space is there and needs to be filled? Or, maybe
because drivers think the tachometer provides valuable
information.
Is your business "dashboard" giving you the right
information or just convenient information? Businesses
can be led astray by pursuing "almost right" or readily
available measures of "success." It is just as important
to find the right numbers for assessing revenue
generation as it is to find the right numbers to manage
the supply-side of your business. You also musn't
overlook critical factors which may be difficult to
reduce to numbers.

Dear Mitchell,
Welcome to the November 2003 Customer
Manufacturing Update. This month's white paper
focus is on metrics, dashboards and key indicators.
Most companies are using some form of these tools to
manage their business. However, are they using the
right indicators or just the available indicators?

paper written by Bob Johnson

Marketing Coach | | Do you need a senior level marketing coach/advisor? If
your company is not yet large enough to justify a
full-time director or vice president of marketing and
marketing is not your "strong suit," you may find value
in a marketing coach/advisor who can help you think
through the critical marketing decisions you need to
make to help your company succeed.Marketing's job is to make selling easy. If you don't
make the time to do the senior level marketing
function(s) in your company, it just makes selling ...
and success that much harder.
If you would like to consider the value of a
marketing coach/advisor, we would be happy to talk
with you about it. We have successfully provided that
service to clients all over the world over the last
several years and we may be able to provide value to
you too.
If you'd like to know more or discuss this with us,
just give us a call or send an e-mail. | |
